Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase Reunite in R.L. Stine's Zombie Town, Now Playing in Theaters

The spooky comedy Zombie Town reunited classic SNL stars Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase.

The new movie Zombie Town is now playing in movie theaters, and it includes a reunion for comedy greats Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase.

Decades ago, Aykroyd and Chase had risen to fame as two of the most popular names in comedy, as each were a part of the original cast of Saturday Night Live. After finding great success in Hollywood with various movies, the two had come together again for Zombie Town, an R.L. Stine adaptation. The film is now officially playing in movie theaters, and to get a sneak peek, you can view the official poster and trailer for Zombie Town below.

Zombie Town is specifically based on the R.L. Stine book of the same name published in 2012. Directed by Peter Lepeniotis (The Nut Job), the film also stars Marlon Kazadi (Riverdale), Henry Czerny (Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One), Madi Monroe (Around the World in 80 Days), Scott Thompson (The Kids in the Hall), Bruce McCulloch (The Kids in the Hall), and a special cameo from R.L. Stine himself.

In the film, per a synopsis, "Amy (Monroe) and Mike (Kazadi) uncover a centuries-old secret when they decide to watch an exclusive film reel. Before they know it, their town has been turned to the undead before their eyes. The duo must track down an infamous filmmaker (Aykroyd) and navigate a town of hungry zombies to break the curse before it’s too late."

Another R.L. Stine Story Is Brought to Life With Zombie Town

"We are delighted to bring the pages of R.L. Stine's Zombie Town to the screen and equally thrilled to be working with such an exceptional cast and crew on this production," Trimuse Entertainment's John Gillespie said of the project when it was announced. "A three-time Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award winner with book sales of over $500 million, R.L. Stine has a phenomenal track record of crafting stories that engage and entertain audiences."

It's not the first of Stine's works to be adapated for the screen. The author is most well-known for his Goosebumps book series, which previously inspired a live-action TV show along with a pair of theatrical films. There's also a new Goosebumps series that's in the works at Disney+. His Fear Street books were also adapted as a trilogy of movies for Netflix.
