The production company behind Saw X, Twisted Pictures celebrated the return of Tobin Bell and promised fans of the franchise that the upcoming movie would involve new traps and mysteries for viewers to solve.

The official description: "John Kramer is back. The most chilling installment of the Saw franchise yet explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw's most personal game. Set between the events of Saw I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, John returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through a series of ingenious and terrifying traps."

Scammers Pick the Wrong Person to Defraud in Saw X

The Saw X official trailer, which debuted at the Midsummer Screen Festival, features a vindictive and vengeful Kramer who exacts revenge on the medical team who scammed him on what they purported to be a life-saving operation. One of Kramer’s sadistic games involved one of his potential victims seemingly forced to take a drill into his own skull. Kramer denies that his game is retribution but rather a reawakening in the trailer in which he also confirmed that his victims will not have the benefit of anesthetics as many as left screaming and bloody.

Saw franchise veteran Shawnee Smith, who portrayed Amanda Young, returns for Saw X. Additionally the cast includes Steven Brand, Synnøve Macody Lund, Michael Beach, Renata Vaca, Paulette Hernandez, Octavio Hinojosa and Joshua Okamoto. The movie, which is the 10th in the long-running franchise, will be directed by Kevin Greutert, who also helmed the 2009 movie Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter in 2010. Greutert involvement in the franchise also includes his role as editor for the first five installments and Jigsaw. Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger are writers, while Daniel J. Heffner, Ketura Kestin, and James Wan executive produce the movie.

Saw X will arrive in theaters on September 29th.
