Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon Warriors are Ready to Take Over Netflix With New Look Empire Covers

Empire Magazine gives a stunning look at the warriors of Rebel Moon in their new covers as the hype for "Zack Snyder's Star Wars" movie builds.

Zack Snyder is all set to sweep the fans into the cosmos with his latest project, Rebel Moon. The film is being lauded as Snyder's response to Star Wars. Rebel Moon is a much-awaited addition to Netflix's catalog. The film promises to be a grandiose space epic.

With whispers of the film's scale being colossal, the first glimpses suggest that Snyder has indeed painted his canvas with broad strokes, incorporating his signature cinematic elements such as muted colors and majestic landscapes.

The stellar casting is composed of heavy weights the like of Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, and Doona Bae. The team just recently graced the covers of Empire Magazine in their respective characters.

A Fusion of Akira Kurosawa’s Spirit and Star Wars-esque Magic

Rebel Moon’s plot revolves around a mysterious young woman who is chosen by her people to assemble a band of warriors from across the galaxy. The group’s mission is to defend their home planet from the merciless onslaught of a force known as the Imperium.

Snyder took a leaf out of Akira Kurosawa's book. He drew inspiration from the 1954 classic Seven Samurai. Snyder then blended it seamlessly with the otherworldly charm reminiscent of Star Wars. As with most space-themed films, the story is set in a galaxy far, far away. The movie is added with an intoxicating mix of rich storytelling and visually stunning sequences.

What sets Rebel Moon apart is Snyder’s unique approach to the release. The film will be released in three parts on Netflix, with two distinct cuts. The first cut is a fantasy adventure meant for a wide audience, while the latter is an adults-only version that promises to take viewers on a much darker and intense journey.

Rebel Moon is not the first time Snyder experimented with multiple cuts. The director has done with the R-rated cut of Batman v Superman. This approach showcases his commitment to serve different tastes and preferences among his audience.

When it comes to the cast, the film has managed to rope in Michiel Huisman as Gunnar, Staz Nair as Tarak, Ray Fisher as Darrian Bloodaxe, Cleopatra Coleman as Devra Bloodaxe, and many more. Each character has been etched with care and is expected to contribute significantly to the tapestry of the story.

Rebel Moon is also making waves with its marketing. Empire Magazine released two new covers featuring the characters from the movie. The first cover showcases Sofia Boutella as Kora, Charlie Hunnam as Kai, Djimon Hounsou as General Titus, Doona Bae as Nemesis, and the android Jimmy, who is voiced by none other than the legendary Anthony Hopkins.

They look battle-ready, as if poised to take on the entire galaxy. The second cover features the android Jimmy in all his glory, adorned with an antler headdress and piercing glowing eyes.

Rebel Moon is slated to launch into the streaming universe on December 22. With its alluring mix of mythic storytelling, arresting visuals, and a cast that can only be described as a constellation in itself, Rebel Moon is gearing up to be the magnum opus in Snyder's already illustrious career.
